12oz bottle. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a very small head. It smelled of pine, citrus and toasted caramel. Sweet caramel presence with some piney hops and bitterness.

Pours an effervescent copper with a thumb of eggshell colored head. Average head retention & minimal lacing

S: Citrus, grass & pine

T: Piney, citrussy & a little dry up front, a little breadyness too. Dryness & pineyness as this warms, a little pomelo as well as this warms. Finishes dry with tangerine & pine

MF: Medium body, moderate carbonation, pretty good balance

A solid, drinkable IPA in the old school vein

Look: great looking beer, bubbly dark amber with a medium white head and some lacing

Smell: grapefruit and citrus is predominant and pretty strong, not a lot else going on

Taste: almost bitter without a cause, some grapefruit, faint pine and a hint of malt with big hop bitterness

Feel: dry, one of the drier IPA's I've encountered

Overall: dryness enhances the bitterness and makes this one very much a west coast style IPA. It's a simple beer that doesn't try to do too much. If you like bitterness and grapefruit as qualities in an IPA you'll enjoy this brew.

Poured into a Free State tumbler.

Look: Dark amber body with a tan foamy head that recedes to a soapy thick film. Decent lines of webby lacing remain.

Aroma: Subtle cedar and black tea leaf tang with bright orange citrus.

Taste: Subtle buttery malts underneath black tea leaves, grapefruit zest, and orange citrus.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, slightly dry.

Overall: A bit woody, with tea tang and citrus.
