Named for Samuel Perry Dinsmore, founder/builder of the Garden of Eden in Lucas, KS, now celebrating its 100th anniversary. Made primarily with Scottish Golden Promise pale ale malt and accented by just a touch of Scottish peated malt and some roasted barley for color. The malt character is the dominant flavor with Warrior and Fuggle hops providing a gentle balance. (O.G. - 17.65P/1071. Hops - 35 IBUs.)

The beer pours with the color of brewed tea accompanied by a small newspaper colored head.
The aroma is a mix caramel and a distinct smoke aroma from the peat smoked malts.
The flavor profile starts with caramel and prune sweetness that quickly fades into a smoky, chalky swallow. The body is smooth and mild.
Overall, a pretty good beer. Not a beer I anticipate or seek out, but the peat smoked malt gives it enough uniqueness to interesting. For extra credit it helped add an extra layer of flavor to my Chipotle Super Bowl Chili.

Dark brown to black pour, ruby highlights make it look hazy and glowing. Semi soapy head makes this beer look like a photo.
Vanilla, oak and leather come through the strongest in the nose. Anise, black plum and cherry are also present.
Scotch flavor. Caramel, vanilla, oak, some peat and sharp leather. Alcohol seems to bite a bit. Rich flavor weakens out toward the end with malt and smooth caramel, making it more drinkable than at first thought.
A good scotch ale in the middle of nowhere.
