Pours a dark brown with amber edges, black from a short distance and opaque. A thin light tan head forms on the top. Poor head retention and no real lacing.
The aroma is relatively weak. It's rather sweet, some caramel coming through as well as some of their generic malt profile. It seems to ve evident in almost every beer they make.
The taste is ok. Again, it's somewhat weak for my liking. There's a bit of a slightly roasted malt presence that is slightly sweet giving off some caramel and other familiar malt tones. My concern here in the "pumpkin" portion of the beer. It's really weak at best. On the finish, a bit of nutmeg and cinnamon is available to the drinker, but it definitely does not come accross as a really pumpkiny stout. It's a stout first, with a faint pumpkin aftertaste, and that's somewhat generous.
The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with fine carbonation bubbles that leave a nice tingle on the finish.
Drinkability is relatively high. Alcohol is presumeably low and the taste is ok. It's a decent beer but definitely not what I was hoping to get out of a Pumpkin Spiced Stout.
