Free State seems to have a porter every now and again. This one is nice and would do well with some of their food items.
A dark brown/black pour with a bubbly brown head...a bit loose. Aroma of dark chocolate and coffee overshadow some dark fruits like plum and prune. Perhaps some raisin.
A bit sweet in the taste. Coffee comes through the most with chocolate and prune coming in the back. Semi-dry finish, a bit of a bite from a good dose of hops. I prefer the stouts, but this is a good porter.

A: Pours a nice black hue with an okay sized mocha head. Okay retention and no lace.

S: Rather mild aroma. Hints of roast malt, dark fruit, and coffee.

T: Dark roasted malt up front, weak coffee in the middle, a touch of dark fruit and more roast.

M: On the thinner side, I would almost go as far as calling it watery.

D: Okay, not the best porter around, but it is drinkable.

A big thumbs up to the gents across the state-ish, first time sampling their wares.

Pours an ink black, with a small tan head. Nice aroma of malt and the infamous sour ale - my favorite blend for a porter. Quaff was very nice too, with that malt containing a chalky blend of malt and biscuit. Even a bit of musty funk is thrown into the mix.

Very tasty, drinkable, and enjoyable brew. Would like to see their beers in bottles over here.
