This is another twist on the traditional English style IPA. Served unfiltered, this beer is made from pale ale malt and Munich malt and then powerfully hopped to 55 IBUs with Simcoe and Ahtanum hops. Dry hopped with a generous portion of Ahtanums for a fabulous aroma. (O.G. - 15.5P/1062. Hops - 55 IBUs)

Appearance: Amber in color, somewhat golden.

Smell: Hops odor is evident but not too strong.

Taste: It has a sweet hoppy taste to it. The hop aftertaste is characteristically present.

Mouthfeel: It has a very clean finish.

Drinkability: APA's are not my favorite but this was OK.

Hazy amber hue. Dense, sticky off white head leaves web like lace. Lightly citric hop nose and light caramel malt with faint hints of biscuit and toasty Munich. Snap of butterscotch diacetyl and caramel malt initially is ceded by moderate hop bitterness and a citrus rind hop flavor. Lightly bready malt and subdued hints of pine emerge mid palate. Full bodied for a pale, and smoothly dextrinous in mouthfeel. Creamy. Overall balance only slightly skewed towards hop bitterness. Diacetyl becomes more pronounced and begins to linger on the palate as the beer warms. Finishes with bread and butter notes fading quickly. A flavorful, unique, but perhaps understated pale. Seemingly a hybrid of British and American pales in overall character. Quaffably good.
