Cola brown to black, clear if not so dark, under a fairly tall tan head.

A lovely roast that's chocolatey but also almost smoky of cigar comes with a little woodiness almost recalling the cedary bitterness of Yeti, but stopping a step or two shy. The exhale is crackly, leafy pumpernickel.

Crisply tingly, tangy, semi-dry.

I am sampling a lightly chilled 16 oz can poured into my .5L dimple mug. Can is date stamped 1/2025, legibility is difficult to read.
Im pouring the beer into the mug and it exudes a cola brown color and sits slightly darker in the glass. A frothy , and overflowing khaki colored head foams up and I only get about 2/3 of the beer into my glass before I need to pause.
There is significant soapy lacing as the foam recedes down the glass.
Aroma is roasted malt and bakers chocolate with just a little herbal tea hop note. No hints of any ABV on this beer.
First sip reveals a lighter body with smooth texture and gentle spacious carbonation. The beer drinks very easy.
Flavor is similar to the nose with roasted malt and bakers chocolate, with some bitterness on the finish. Roasted notes are almost charred malt. Never any hint of booze, again some mild hops that taste like tea to me.
This is a drinkable dark lager, dinging the score a bit due to over foaming. But overall, an enjoyable experience for me with this beer.

Poured into a narrow imperial pint glass: color is dark brown, amber edges, head is tan with frothy bubbles and presents 3+ fingers thick, solid one finger head remains.

Smell is toast, toffee, chocolate, light roast coffee, light sweetness and hint of grassed hops.

Taste is similar with a sweeter profile than maybe expected - toast, toffee, chocolate, hints of coffee, light nuttiness, light earth and grassy hop note.

Mouthfeel is light/moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, lower bitterness but a crisp lingering carbonation.

Overall a very good dark lager with pleasant malt depth and crisp finish, maybe a touch sweet.

Pours a deep chestnut brown almost black with very little light shining through.
Pours with a nice tan head, which hangs to the glass forming a nice lace.
Smells of black patent and roasted malt, taste is somewhat similar, but very smooth and quaffable.
Finish is nice and dry with a lingering roasted malt taste.
Overall it's not bad, but I believe it would benefit from less black patent malt.
Just my opinion.
I'd get it again though.
Lolev makes interesting beers.
