Softly opaque corn milk yellow with a moderately short head of fine white bubbles leaving some spots of lace on the glass

Juicy, though contrasted by a little green onion and mint.

The medium body is softly frothy.

Dated 04/22/26, into a stemless wide wine glass.

Pours an ultra thick very dark yellow with massive fluffy white foam. Aroma is massive mango, tropical fruits, and diesel/burnt popcorn. Flavor is similar, tons of passionfruit and dry stone fruit, as well as an incredibly intense, sharp bitterness. I'm getting some pretty severe hop burn to the point that I think it actually is supposed to be that bitter. I really don't mind it actually, the sharpness is intense but it's not drying or alcoholic in any sort of way. It's very green and vegetal as well, which I also enjoy. Finish is pretty complex, moving through dry passionfruit and a little overripe mango onto a little dankness, diesel, and then finally intense almost green tea earthy bitterness. No malt presence at all. Mouthfeel is excellent, super smooth, very creamy, higher body but no ethanol whatsoever. Very sticky but not sweet either and the drying bitterness persists through sips of water.

Overall, this is my first experience with the "ultra saturated hoppy ale" genre started by Troon, and Lolev's IPAs have always been good, so it's no surprise that this is a unique experience and does exactly as advertised. It's complex and violently hoppy, and I enjoyed it thoroughly, but this is a potent experience rather than a proper beer, closer to a kettle sour or BBA stout than something like a Sierra Nevada Torpedo, which is supposedly the same style.
