12 ounce draft pour in a shaker glass.
Appearance: Cloudy like an old Honey Bear. A few microns of foam in a ring around the surface. Otherwise completely flat. Served with a slice of lemon on the rim.
Smell: Bubblegum. Like tearing open a pack of Bubbicious. And the glass smells like the lemon I just gave to my wife.
Taste: Imagine that you peel an orange, throw away the center, start chewing on the peel, and immediately begin working on that bag of Big League Chew you’ve been sitting on for a while. There’s Hop’n Wheat.
Mouthfeel: Flat as tap water.
Overall: The nice young server described this beer as “part hefeweizen, part IPA, but more IPA”. I see the hefeweizen, but Stadium and I clearly have differing definitions of what an IPA is. The bittering is misplaced, harsh, and unpleasant. The warmer it gets, the more it tastes like soap. And for a beer that has ANY hefeweizen in it, shouldn’t it be kind of carbonated? Ultimately this beer is a failed experiment. I would love to see Stadium perfect any style of beer before they start trying to reinvent them.
