12 ounce draft pour in a shaker glass.
Appearance: Lightly hazed copper. Thin cap of foam. Lacing all down the sides.
Smell: Very faint nose. Maybe a little bit of citrus pith and a touch of honey.
Taste: Nice, light citrusy bite. Very dry. The flavors are all turned down near mute, but it’s actually pretty drinkable.
Mouthfeel: Light body and medium carbonation. Fairly smooth.
Overall: The waiter described this beer as “a pale ale with hops from New Zealand.” Great sales pitch, but I would have loved to see a little more of that beautiful New Zealand hop character somewhere in there. The bitterness was so low that they might as well have saved their money and just used Cascade. And the thin cloud inside would seem to suggest dry-hopping, but the aroma does not support that theory. Overall I would have to say that this is probably the best beer I’ve had from Stadium, but I would love to see them dial it in a little bit more.
