Even after a careful pour there are many floaties, however the appearance otherwise is lovely with the clear amber brew and a creamy cap of foam in the New Belgium snifter. The nose is quite floral and herbal. Sudsy and lively on the tongue. This tastes more like some kind of watery Saison to me, but it's certainly hoppy enough to be a variety of Pale Ale. The aftertaste is rather bitter, between the hops and the yeast. I would like to try this on tap sometime. From the 16 oz can purchased at Garden Path.

Poured from 12oz can into a dimpled mug.
Appearance: medium golden hue with a moderate haze and tons of little floaties in the body -- I guess I didn't pour as gently as the can recommends! head is a finger of frothy, pillowy ivory foam.
Smell: light, airy, sweetish malt, with a hint of graininess. There's a wonderful Belgian yeast aroma here, along with some nicely grassy/noble hops. Great!
Taste: flavor is a little sweeter than the aroma would have suggested up front, and finishes with a nice, sort of wildflower-y character. I like it.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and a really nice creaminess! This beer is "can-conditioned", which might explain some of the floaties, but it yields a great creaminess!
Overall: a very drinkable beer indeed. This would be great with a meal, especially a salad or something.

Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a lightly hazy, medium golden amber with a three finger white head with good retention and thick lacing. Aroma of lightly grainy malt, lemon, light mixed fruit and floral hops. Flavor is mixed grain malt, floral and citrus hops, lemon, grapefruit, Belgian yeast and summer hay. Citrus zest finish with moderate bitterness. Medium bodied with light creaminess and active carbonation. A quite fine domestic take on a Belgian table ale. I was expecting more of a saison profile because that seems to be the primary brew from this new nanobrewery, but I have to say that this is a authentic tasting light Belgian ale. It has a little more hop presence than most abbey table ales, but the hops have a nice floral element that reflects the botanical part of this brewery. Light and refreshing, but great flavor depth for the ABV. A pleasant surprise; I'll be watching for more from this brewery.
