We've been waiting for cooler days to bring out this English style barleywine that we've had aging in Toledo Spirit Orange Tiger barrels for 2 1/2 years. Rich and smooth with notes of toffee, caramel, dark fruit, and orange. Cheers!

22 oz. bottle
Served in a snifter
This beer pours dark brown with garnet highlights that are only visible when held to a light source. It is topped with less than an inch of tan head that leaves little trace of its existence.
Pronounced orange aroma. Underlying caramel and oak.
Orange flavor. I get some caramel and vanilla. Oaky finish.
Medium bodied with dryish mouthfeel
I didn't pay much attention to the bottle other than the fact that it was "barrel aged." The orange flavor was interesting. I would prefer a bourbon barrel aged barleywine, but I am definitely glad I purchased this bottle. It was a nice change of pace for my palate and expectations. It was well executed. That's all I can ask of any brewery.
