This one was a birthday gift in August 2024 that was drunk in December of that year.
L: There is a slightly hazy, light golden colour in the glass with a thin rim of soapy suds around the edge of the glass. A few columns of large bubbles hustle upwards.
S: The primary aroma of the beer is dusty grain. I can detect light, lemony notes if I parse the scent hard enough. Otherwise, there is not much to recommend this one in the olfactory column.
T: The taste is better than expected from the visuals and nose. That slightly lemony note from the aroma is present in the taste, and the dusty graininess is held well in check, but the aftertaste picks up that note, and it becomes the defining point after the swallow, with a hint of tea leaves and leather thrown in. It's not offensive, and if I suddenly developed gluten intolerance, I would happily drink this, but there's not a lot of reason to drink it otherwise. But then, I suspect that's the point!
M: The body of the beer is a little thin, as expected when no barley or oats were harmed while making this beer. Carbonation is mild, and there's little to no kick on the swallow.
O: As noted above, if I were gluten intolerant, I'd cling to this beer like a drowning man and a life raft. But I'm not, and as a result, this beer lacks what others more gluten-enriched bring to the table. But again, that's likely not the point of this beer...
Cheers!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
