Hops of Fury is a triple IPA that's sure to battle your senses into submission. We hopped this beer in the kettle with Warrior, Summit, Galaxy, Simcoe, Amarillo, and Citra for a complex and powerful flavor combination. For extra measure, we even added a small bale of Columbus hop flowers to the mash! We then dry hopped this organoleptic cannonball with Mosaic, Citra, Nelson Sauvin, and Centennial.

Spectacular tour de force. Very nearly a barleywine vibe. The 2025 release combines a lot of whole hop and cryo hop. Mosaic and columbus cryo.. citra, mosaic, columbus, and chinook hops otherwise.

Really scratchy, intense, crunchy hop blasts. Super elegantly balanced. Really impressive. Allium, pine, some clementine and strawberry. Really rustic, rich, but very simple american two row barley malt presence. Tons of heat without the burn at 11%. Very rare to find this pulled off.

Pretty fucking awesome. Surprised, impressed… satisfied.

Had on tap. Murky yellow body, finger of white foam, spotted lacing. Dank piney hops star in both the smell and taste. In the smell there is grapefruit, orange, garlic, biscuit malt, and resin. Taste has orange, grapefruit, black pepper, cracker malt and resin. Feel is hop forward with resinous and dank textures, well balanced, the booze is felt a little but never warm.

Crystal clear golden body. Good head production and retention, especially given the astronomical ABV.

The nose is hoppy, but both muted and a bit of a melange, not really letting on to the subtleties and complexities that might be found with such a varied and enormous hop blend. What I do pick up are notes of peach, white grape, mandarin orange, pine, pepper, and resin. The huge malt base and ABV are present mostly as a strong, doughy backbone.

Certainly a hop bomb, but the focus is on dank, vegetal, green, herbal notes, with little of the fruit explosion you get from popular NE-style hop bombs - appropriately, as this beer is advertised as anything but. A very basic American 2-row barley malt base provides a simple, crackery background for an explosion of bitter hops, with notes of pine, resin, lemon zest, grapefruit, and pepper. Lesser notes of peach and orange try to poke through, but are mostly washed away almost immediately by the second wave of bitter, dank, resinous hop tones.

This beer is unapologetically a West Coast hop bomb amplified to the extreme. It's a maximized PtE - without the subtlety and nuance, but every bit of the brash character. It quite literally goes to eleven.

Revisited March 13th, 2025

Glorious color and clarity; bold golden tones; dense streaming carbonation bubbles; thick head, white and sculpted with a dense sudsy appearance. Bright and intensely aromatic hop nose; spicy with pine resin and floral qualities mixed in; mild underlying sweetness. Incredible taste; balanced and complex; moderate light malt sweetness; spicy, herbal hop flavors; bold yet suitable bitterness. Heavy body; smooth and slick on the palate; mild undertone of alcohol warmth.

I surprised myself by apparently having this beer almost six years ago. I'm not sure where I got it from (likely Tavour), but my favorite local beer emporium has it in stock now. Well, this one is certainly fresh and comes across tastier than my first experience. I believe a few more cans may follow me home if it's still in stock.

ABV: 11%; pouring temperature: 46.8 ℉; canning info: C1 FURY 02/11/25

Deep gold body; decent carbonation; thick, frothy, white head. Relatively mild aroma; malty and spicy with some pine resin. Big malt flavor with an equal measure of pine resin; heavy biscuit; very strong hop bitterness; dull sweetness; peppery. Heavy body; sticky and coarse on the palate; alcohol dryness counterbalancing the residual sugars.

This is a bold and bracing triple IPA, highlighting a lot of hop presence. The alcohol presence is there yet pretty tame overall considering its 11.0% ABV. This has a classic west coast IPA appearance but with a definite high octane kick. Good stuff.

At what point does a double IPA become a triple IPA? IBU? ABV? I don't know but this is a strong one. Golden orange, almost no head. Dank hop aroma, west coast, slightly catty, pine needles, pineapple, alcohol. Dank, pine, fruit, alcohol, its definitely a strong ass IPA. I love the fact Beachwood is keeping West Coast IPA alive and well.

Tropical sweet aromatics on this TIPA! The taste follows very well with very smooth hoppiness and slight dankness. This is a very drinkable TIPA that hides alcohol kick very well!

10oz tulip at THG.

A: Clear deep golden with a couple fingers of dense off-white head that faded into a thin collar. Wispy sticky lace.
S: Herbal, slightly dank, slightly citrus nose with a touch of pine. Not as perfumey and fragrant as I'd anticipated. Hints of volatile alcohol present as well.
T: Juicy up front with a very leafy finish and lingering green leafy bitterness. Spicy herbal quality, hint of mint, with a touch of bitter citrus rind linger in the aftertaste. No trace of the base two row as the hops obviously shine.
M: Alcohol is actually hidden quite well but there is a mild warmth presence. Not a harsh burn or presence though as this beer has fairly polished edges. Full bodied, viscous and slick mouthfeel full of greasy hop oils but drying finish and a fairly light (for a triple) mouthfeel. Very drinkable.
O: Very clean and easy to drink for a triple with a smoother mouthfeel than some.

- 6oz. pour off tap into a pint glass at the restaurant (Long Beach, CA) on 5-Feb-16

One of the better triple IPA's I've had. Nice malt, hop, body balance. I prefer this a bit over El Segundo's PP and definitely better than Knee Deep's Simtra, but not quite as good as PtY or Noble's Citra Yum Yum.
