650 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Viscous looking deep amber body. Very small white head and a minuscule collar.

Smell - Boozy. Kinda nutty caramel malts. Bourbon.

Taste - Bourbon and wood. Vanilla. Lots of caramel. Nutty malts. Boozy.

Mouthfeel - Very boozy. Heavy body.

Overall - Tasty, but huge. I also don't get it as a quad so much.

Bottle pour at the post-FWIBF bottle share held at the Adelaide Inn in Paso Robles, CA.

Batch No. 1.

Pours a clear orange-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, brown sugar, caramel toffee, dark fruit, bourbon, and wood aromas. Taste is much the same with brown sugar, caramel, toffee, vanilla, and bourbon flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of wood bitterness and an alcohol kick on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and sticky mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with great bourbon barrel aged qualities all around.
