Beachwood bbq: FV8
West coast ipa with Columbus, centennial, & el dorado hops.
7.1%abv
A: amber in color with just a little haze. Rocky off white head with good retention from the tap.
4.25
S: lemon oil and fresh apricot lead on the nose with some green undertones. Quite nice and frankly somewhat of a surprise here.
4.5
T: some of the nose carries over before moving into a full on dankmotsphere. Lots of bitterness overwhelms and frankly sort of kills what worked so well on the nose after a few seconds on the palate. It begins with a quick flash of dried apricot and lemon confit and moves rapidly into a burnt kale overload. as well as Some "flamed" cannabis if you will. That said the Bitterness works in a mostly vegetal direction which for me is unfortunate. Still... A nice beer overall.
3.5
M: Crisp and medium minus in length, sadly what lingers is sort of a bitter for bitter's sake sort of thing with a lot of misdirection.
3.5
O: This leads on so well, and finishes in disappointment. Not unlike like the calm before a storm, which turns out to be only a cloudy day.
