Modest head production, and it's quickly gone. Appropriately labeled a dark ale, the body is quite dark but apparently clear.
Nose is very strong, and carries the bourbon notes quite well, including oak, mash, and coconut. Beneath, tones of brown sugar, caramel, and toffee linger.
Like the nose, this leans into barleywine territory, with a big, sweet, dark malt base, amplified by a bourbon presence that starts hot and sharp, but by the second half starts growing in prominence. It's not overly sweet, and it's quite balanced. There's a bit of a nutty, chocolatey flavor to the base beer, which I suppose explains the "dark ale" moniker.
Very drinkable. It's big and bold, and fairly hot, but it's not aggressive or painful. Relatively short finish, although there's a bit of a lingering oiliness.

I find this beer to be agreeable on many levels. Vanilla on your tongue like Sara Sampaio serving you your favorite Baskin Robin.
I’m kinda faded, so I’m out.

Fresh batch 5 and this is a nice smooth barrel aged beer with a huge amount of vanilla and a great bourbon taste. Still a bit fresh, but this should be even better with some age.
