A bodacious WCDIPA featuring one of the greatest hop combos of all time, an obscene amount of Simcoe & Amarillo, including double dry hopping with Simcoe cryo & Amarillo flowers.

Grabbed a can at Geoie’s. Haven’t had Melrose in quite a few years, and used to be a fav from B’Wood.
This DIPA brought back a bunch of memories and the 100+ IBU’s was definitely a fun throwback.
Super clear straw yellow with a hint of green. Soft fluffy white head that breaks down pretty quickly.
Big nose full of the Simcoe and Amarillo hops. Man, old school!
Taste mirrored and definitely an excellent old school WCIPA flavor. Big time DDH really shows up.
Feel was brisk and refreshing. No real note of its high ABV.
Overall, this was a delicious refreshing big IPA that really delivered for me.
Make no mistake…I love my big NEDIPA’s and the Other Half DDH Daydreams. But this is just a classic old school WCIPA that has been ramped up in a delightful and spot on delicious way. Excellent. Wish I had this on tap at home in MD.
Absolutely loved this beer.

Pours a crystal clear golden color with a huge fluffy white head.

Smells like rock candy, and floral.

Tastes like honeydew melon, some grapefruit, honey, bitter orange peel, cracker, and pine. Plenty of alcohol warmth going, syrupy booziness, and moderate piney bitterness.

Feel is moderately carbonated, slick and oily, sticky with hops and residual sugars, pretty normal feel for a WCDIPA.

A really solid DIPA. A bit too boozy for my tastes, but good.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a nice transparent orange with little white head. No bubbles. Nose is mango, pineapple, pine needles, and orange peel. The taste is fantastic. Tropical fruit upfront - mango, papaya, and pineapple. Pine resin on the back end. In between is some nice citrus peel, some vanilla, prickly pear, grass, and a leathery note. A great balance of sweet and bitter. The ABV is fairly well hidden. Mouthfeel is dry and light. Overall, this is a fantastic DIPA.

Canned 15 Dec 2021.
A clear light copper with a dense, off-white head with excellent retention and lacing this looks great. The nose is bitter, dank and clean. Big Simcoe notes with floral and bitter citrus, dank pine, a little melon. Just a hint of caramel malt to go with the loads of hop flavor. Aggressive. The palate opens with a lot of bitterness, pungent, clean, oily with pine, citrus peel, grapefruit, so dank. Pungent with a hint of allium. Drying, bitter, resiny finish with the alcohol shockingly well hidden. Excellent stuff.

Solid West Coast DIPA. Friend brought it to a beer exchange and it was a big hit. Smoother finish than you would expect for this ABV, but has all the hop goodness you expect from a double. Need to find some more.

I don’t really know much about “Mega” things, ya know? Mega millions? Yeah, not going for that one. Mega, uhh, ice cream sunday? Nope, not going for that one either. Mega… well, you get that picture. THAT being said… Beachwood Mega’d this one like, well, Mega Man. Hey, so maybe Mega isn’t that bad.

I’m gone.
