Handsome coppery auburn colored brew, but not much foam in the little Strubbe tulip. Thick and viscous mouthfeel and actually there's a tickle of carbonation on the tongue. Aroma is pleasantly boozy and barrel-y with some vanilla and roasted grain. Moderately sweet but not as sugary as a lot of this style, even a sharp finish. Tastes of whiskey for sure, with a moderate dose of hops. Caramel and burnt sugar. Some bitterness in the aftertaste along with the lingering sweet malt. An interesting barrel-aged brew, not as lush as you might expect, but quite sippable.

Dark brown, clear, beige foam.
Barrel, malt, good but not jumping out.
Toffee and caramel, which is exactly what I'm looking for. Low bitterness but no mind, it's enough. Same goes for alcohol and toast. No complaints, this excellent.
Brief bite, doesn't hang around. NBD.
