i read the other two reviews. both seasoned veterans with amazing reviewing ability.... especially Raul. his reviews are classic. but this is more 'unique' than 'bad'.... i think.... i found it 'hearty'. a tad bit dense. maybe even 'a little rotten grass'. a blend of hops someone placed a gamble on, and it may have worked in the research stages... mine was canned 11 days ago and i can see the potential resemblance to their reviews, but it's still subjective... and it's not THAT bad..... great head and lace!!!

 

I had this on draft 5/19/23 @ the Hopleaf.

See-through bright orange appearance.

Small white head; strong spiderweb lacing remained.

Pine, mango, wheat bread & dry ganja notes in the nose.

Sticky, medium-thick mouthfeel.

Dry pine, dry ganja, mild wheat & faint mango flavors.

A bit punishing on the dryness/bitterness for this timid soul.

Raul’s fancy is not tickled by this one, no sir! Even if Adriana Lima herself had an Arabian Ostrich’s feather, I wouldn’t even give it a giggle. The problem is some beers smell like dead grass (which isn’t Raul’s favorite, but it’s passable). And then some beers smell like rotted grass - case in point, Octopus Arcade. Coming full circle, this beer is kind of like having a Jamba Juice smoothie when you’re 16; you think it’s tasty and all healthy and stuff, but then there’s the reality of things. And here, Octo is at least palatable, but it’s basic on basic to Raul.

No matter how the ball goes in the hoop, you still scored.
