The pour is amber in color with a finger of white head. The nose opens up with a rather heavy pine hop aroma followed by some herbal notes and an interesting fruitiness (maybe berries?). As expected, plenty of bread and sweet malt. The bread and malt is more pronounced on the palate, but the hoppiness is definitely still there. A bit of a floral note to go along with some pine and fruit.

On tap at Beachwood Long Beach.

A: Golden orange with an inch of white froth. Good retention and lots of lacing.

S: Bright orange and tangerine flesh rest atop biscuit and toasted bread. Earthy and lightly floral with a touch of caramel.

T: Biscuit and toasted bread blend with orange and tangerine. There's a light sweetness and a moderate bitterness, as well as some caramel notes. The bitterness is smooth and pleasant, contrasting nicely with the bready malt characteristics. Finishes with an increased level of bitterness and lingering tangerine.

M: Lower medium body with upper medium carbonation. The mouthfeel is smooth and sticky.

Overall: This style was bound to happen sooner or later, and who better to do it? Good stuff.

Pours a clear dark orange with a beige head that settles to an oily film on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt/grain and lots of citrus zest aromas. Taste is of citrus fruit and citrus zest up front with the malt coming through on the finish. There is a medium amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good bitter with a nice citrus presence.
