From a brewery not so far, far away comes Hop Vader, a full-blown west coast hop experience that walks on the dark side. Hop Vader is a black IPA that's fully saturated with Pacific Northwest hops for a citrusy strike. A Jedi mind trick using German black malt give this beer a dark hue with subtle roasty notes. A Death Star-sized dry hop charge using Simcoe & Columbus leaves a dank aroma that would challenge even Master Yoda. Is your organoleptic light saber ready?

On tap at at Beachwood BBQ in Seal Beach poured into a nonic. Beer pours clear dark brown with a two-finger tan head that leaves rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma is roasty malt, dank leafy hops, citrus peel, and light cocoa. Taste is initially sweet and roasty with cocoa and malt, then some citrus juice cuts through. Pine and herbal bitterness on the finish. Medium body, slightly sticky resin texture, medium-low carbonation, roasty, bitter, and mildly astringent finish.
