Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a one finger khaki head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, bakers chocolate, mild dark dried fruit and some coffee. Flavor is dark toasted malt with moderate char, drip coffee, bakers chocolate, mild dried plum and dates. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess and nice mouth feel. A pleasant, roasty Baltic porter with a fine toasted malt base. There is more coffee-like toastiness than plum character than most of this style, but the plum is there and melds with an excellent malt for the style. The fruit notes lean more to dates than plums, much like an English barleywine, although the overall effect is solid Baltic. A somewhat different Baltic porter, but really liked the coffee roast flavors. Nicely done. I'd get this again.
