Cask-conditioned at The Brazen Head's cask fest (Brooklyn).
Slightly hazy, chestnut-coloured with a tan head; more that enough natural carbonation. Nutty aroma, slightly floral. Big malt mouthfeel with a follow-up of nut with hints of chocolate and toffee. Liquid biscuit! Long, malty, nutty finish - very pleasant.
7.4% ABV and an Old Ale-style according to the brewer (who was there). A winning recipe (as long as you like nutty, brown ale-like beers).

"Goods" all around for this pleasant session beer. Had it on cask at the Brazen Head festival. It's classification as an English Strong Ale is somewhat interesting... I found it to drink almost like a nut brown. In fact, this beer reminded me of one of my favorite DFH's, the India Brown Ale.
The beer is a nice amber-brown color, with a pretty nice foamy white head. The smell is of caramelized malts combined with what seems to be a touch of smokiness -- perhaps its the herbaceousness of the hops I'm smelling. The tasts is highly reminiscent of burnt sugar or toffee, with a nice biting acidic bitterness, grassiness, and earthiness clinging to the palate in the finish. The mouthfeel is smooth, and the beer is supremely easy to drink at this ABV. If BruRm's goal was to make me feel like I did when I was a kid playing in autumn leaf piles and eating warm cider donuts, they've done quite well.

Murky brown with a low, light brown head that dissipates quickly. Faint aroma of bready malt. Mouthfeel reminds me of a cask beer -moderate to low carbonation, near cellar temperature. Flavor is earthy, chewy, malty. Not sweet, but biscuity, and very satisfying and inviting for more. Alcohol is subtle, doesn't interfere with the flavor. 55 IBU's of hops poke through the malt and ABV and show themselves in the finish, and leave a bitter, tingly lingering flavor. I like this one.
