This beer emphasizes hops from beginning to end. The clean herbal aroma comes from dry hopping, that is adding hops after fermentation. For this we chose a variety of hops grown in the Yakima Mountains of Washington. The flavor starts with a delicious malty character and builds quickly to a big hop finish. There is no harsh lingering aftertaste, we have carefully crafted this brew so that the assertive dryness at the end starts to fade just as you are ready for another sip.

Hazy, bread, pale color with a one finger head and lots of lacing as consumed. Nice floral aroma with a bit of malty sweetness. Citrus hops and bready malts make for a good flavor, but there's also a very fruity, almost like strawberry flavor, which detracts a tiny bit. Drinks very easily with minimal bitterness, mild carbonation, and a clean finish. Overall, its a good pale ale with good balance and easy drinking qualities. Only complaint is the overly fruity flavor, which might be from the house yeast because the flavor shows up the amBar ale as well. Not sure, but either way, its a solid beer.

On Tap at BAR in New Haven, CT. This is a hipster joint right beside Yale University. Dark atmosphere, and as a NYC man I approve of their brick oven pizza. That is all they have, beer, pizza and Yale folk.

Appearance- It was on tap, apparently brewed on location. It was fill to the lip in a pint glass with no head by the time i got it except for a thin lace. It was a lovely golden amber, the color got me excited.

Smell- Instant notes of piney hops, It was a busy bar so that was all I picked up but I didn't know what to expect when I ordered it so when I got a hint of the hops I changed my expectations. I was actually in for a real beer.

Taste- Smooth, nice carbonation. Nice blend of fruity notes and bitter hop kick. It had a nice balance with a light malty foundation ending with a light piney hop taste. I was pleased and surprised by it, I didn't know this place would have a beer worth reviewing, I went in blind.

Mouthfeel- No overwhelming taste of alcohol hardly any to make note. Nicely carbonated, highly drinkable.

Overall- I didn't know what to expect but I would go back for their beer. I tried this and the stout and both impressed me. If you are thinking about going and you are going to be in New Haven, take the trip. This is def. there most beer drinker friendly beer, the stout was good too, but I certainly found this one to be worth writing about.

On tap at the BruRoom Brew Pub. Serviceable cascade lke pale. Golden yellow body with lace sheets down the glass. The aroma is hoppy, but also malts. The carbonation is right there. Good orange citrus flavour, good drinkability, I could have a pint or two if that was all there was.

Served on-tap in an unmarked pint glass at BAR in New Haven, Conn.

A: Poured a medium, golden amber color with a one-finger head of fizzy foam which collected a good deal of sticky white lace.

S: Smells a bit bready, with grassy, herbal hop aromas and some citrus scents as well.

T: Tastes very dry and bready at first with a mild sweetness which lends way to a mild toffee sweetness and slight hope bitterness. The finish drys up a bit, leaving the palate a bit hoppier than originally stated, but still feels a bit like the English varietal here.

M: Medium bodied with a mellow, drying and quaffable mouthfeel. Easy to down on its own or with a pie.

D: Hovering around 5% ABV, this is a fine ale to cut the grease of your mashed potato or chix/broccoli pie, but it also has the legs to stand on its own as a sessionable APA. Give it a shot, chances are you won't regret it.

L: Pours an orange amber color with a medium sized and medium bodied tan colored head that takes some time to fade. Laces some down the glass.
S: The smell is of sweet roasted malts, some citrisy and some piney hops in the nose at the end.
T: The taste follows the nose very well except is ends with a sweet aftertaste that seems to be the same with most of Bar's beers.
M: Very smooth, refreshing and has the perfect amount of carbonation.
D: Very drinkable beer.

Served in a pint glass.

Pours a medium amber color with a very thin white head that leaves nice lacing. The aroma is dominated by sweet orange citrus. Up front flavors of malt and grapefruit hops leads to sweet orange hops and a lemony, dry finish with no aftertaste. Malt is mixed in between all the hops very nicely taking turns as the lead flavor, great balance. Medium body, light carbonation, this is a very crisp drinkable Pale Ale. The hop flavors are kept in check by the malt but still allowed to shine.
