Great honey flavor. Only mildly bitter.

I don't review GABF beers unless I have about 10 samples...case in point--this brew.
This isn't the end-all be-all of IPAs. This is, however, a very nice drinking IPA that is balanced in hops and malt. A nice light golden pour with some rockiness in the head.
Aroma is sweet and piny, but over those there is a citrus/tropical fruit presence. A bit perfumey, which detracts a bit with the score.
Coming in first in the flavor race is the tropical fruit. Mango (the good kind, not the crap you find in the U.S.) is up, then some pineapple. Citrus rinds and zest come in next. But the overall maltiness persists throughout. Sweet, sure. A bit thin on the feel.
easy drinking, hence the 10 return trips to this beer.

A- pours a golden orange color with not much head, the bartender miss-poured this one. other than that a good looking ipa.
S- sweet, fruity hops are apparent. but an overly sweet malt characteristic is very prominent. makes me wonder what its gonna taste like.
T- sweeet. like overly sweet for me. IPA?? i don't get any hops at all. i dunno if its just a bad bacth or what but i take one sip andthat's it for me thanks but no thanks.
M/D- mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation. drinkability = not at all for me.
This beer is overly sweet for me, like i said i dunno if i got a bad one or what but this ruined 73 for me. i dunno what happened here, stopped fermentation early? added extra sugar? i dunno but it's sweet/

16oz pour from a few shared pitchers
A - dirty copper in color, half inch or so of frothy pillowy white foam which nicely hung around the entire drink. slightly hazy body.
S - tropical fruits: melon, pineapple, hops are up front but balanced by some caramel sweetness underneath.
T - great fruity hop profile with a substantial amount of pineapple, melon, honeydew, orange rind, and a light pine to finish it off. bitter enough for a hop head yet balanced for newcomers.
M - standard body for the style, carbonation was a touch soft. oily going down, leaves a pleasant lingering fruitiness.
D - always weary of small production brewpub IPA's (which often end up being slightly glorified English Bitters), this one was a HUGE hit. great fruity hop profile, unique, delicious, drinkable. Wished CT allowed growler fills at restaurants. Very well done.
