Amber colored, and malty, with a touch of roasted malt for balance. Inspired by the Scottish style ales.

A review that is 15 years late. Will try to pull as much info from my memory, as it is still one of the nicest brews I ever had.
Dark amber color with little foam.Light carbonation.Smelling roasted hazelnuts and aromatic hops.Very smooth, sweet nuts taste, nicely balanced with herbal taste of hops.
Finish was very clean, reminding me of roasted pumpkin seeds.
That was the begining of KIBC

Had this several times this August, including once at the brewery and it was probably my favorite beer from the brewery.
If I hadn't seen the labeling, I would've assumed this was an American Brown or English Brown ale. The hop character was fairly bitter and the malts were there, but fairly conservative and not all that sweet. Not really any smokey or herbal flavors, but the malt had a nice, light nutty quality to it. Mouthfeel was pretty light and carbonated about right, so that it was a fairly easy drinker. Definitely a smooth beer that goes great with a burger at Henry's.
