Growler provided by my friend Andy who just returned from Alaska. This growler was about 5 days old at the most and was filled directly off the tap. Poured into pint glasses:
A - Pours deep amber with golden rays shining through. Half an inch of dirty white head that dies into a foam ring. Constant bubbles coming up from the bottle that adds to the foam cap. Lacing is pretty good.
S - Smells of faint pine, citrus hops of orange peel, pineapple and booze. Slight bits of hay and grass.
T - Taste is slight bitter pine, orange peel, lemon grass and dank basement notes. I'm guessing this might taste a bit better if it was fresh directly off the tap.
M - Smooth and a bit of a tingle of carbonation. Slight bitterness and drying effects from the hops.
O - Not too bad but this one might have suffered a little bit since it wasn't exactly freshly off the tap. My buddy Andy really likes IPAs and he said this was pretty good fresh, so I'm guessing it is pretty damn tasty but since it was a few days old the smell and taste suffered a bit. Really glad that I got to try it and would like to try it fresh sometime, if I ever travel to Kodiak.
