Gifted for Christmas 2022. Drunk in January 2023.
L: Bright, hazy, pineapple juice yellow. The occasionally slow-moving, large bubble works its way up the glass. The head is bright white, and frothy, but fades quickly to a thin rim around the edges, covering the top with a smattering of foam constellations.
S: Orange, mandarin and tangerine. Quite pronounced, too, for a mid-strength beer.
T: Taste follows the nose. The orange aroma has disappeared and the mandarin is prominent in taste when compared to the nose. Further consideration finds creamy tropical fruit - guava and papaya come to mind - and this rounds the beer out nicely. This is really tasty for a mid-strength beer.
M: Slight knock here - it's quite sharp and almost soft-drink-like in its carbonation. Body is consequently a little thin.
O: This is a truly excellent beer for its category. It has the tropical fruit chops of its bigger brothers and only shows that it's still wearing shorts in its mouthfeel. But if I had to drink this all day long I'd be a very happy camper.
Cheers!
