Huge, foamy head--more than a hand wide initially. As it slowly settles, it leaves a dense dome and leaves a smattering of smaller, 3D spots on the glass. The liquid is cloudy with a straw-like color.

Powerful floral hop smell emits from the can as soon as it is opened. Despite its strength, there is a decent pale malt aroma that shows up once the nose becomes accustomed to the bitterness.

The taste reflects the higher hop content--I would not identify this as a Kölsch. It's closer to an American Pale Ale. The body is also richer than typical for the style. This is enhanced from the low carbonation level. The flavor has a combination of lingering hop bite and a more earthy style of hop. Overall, this is a good beer but a poor example of a Kölsch.
