Carbon Copy "Tender"
one pint can without production codes or freshness dating
$21/4-pack at the brewery on January 28, 2023
Notes via stream of consciousness: Two fingers of off-white foam tops a mostly clear golden body with the exception that there's lots of visible particulate in suspension. That's kind of unique. The hops are Citra, Mosaic, and Motueka. I'm mainly getting the Mosaic but that might be because I kegged a batch of pretty bright Mosaic IPA earlier today. It's not the boldest of aroma but I usually find that to be the case with double IPAs. On to the taste... the malt is there, sweetish and basic with bread and a light bit of golden caramel. The hops are more pronounced with notes of berry, mint & lime combined, tangerine, apple, apricot, pear, nectarine, and herbs. It's a little floral as well. The alcohol is well-cloaked although its presence is noted in the finish where it helps to dry it along with a firm bitterness. It's sweet, fruity, herbal, and then bitter in the finish with some lingering herbal character. At this point I can see that some of the sediment has dropped to the bottom of the glass. That doesn't bother me at all, and I'd rather have an unfiltered beer to be honest. The head held up well and I still have a solid cap of creamy foam although it is only about a sixteenth of an inch thick. The lacing is quite good to boot but I'm a little on the fence on scoring. In the mouth it's medium-full in body and smooth across the tongue. I've been pleased with every beer that I've had from Carbon Copy so far and this is no exception.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
