It has the color right, as an English Dark Mild Ale. It has the color of blackstrap molasses. Generously carbonated, there's quite the layer of biege head on top. The smell of roasted barley is enticing. A little hops can be had, both in the aroma and taste, but that's not what this style is about. There's much more flavor and it's a very pleasant one, from the roasted malt. It drinks lightly, yet with enough body to be enjoyable. There's even some stratified lacing within the clear glass liter mug marking each time the erstwhile contents of a pint can were removed from it. This is excellent, with more flavor than a dry stout, without adding any more bitterness, nor alcohol. It's a true session beer for anyone that likes a roasty tasting brew enough to want to have several at a time.

on draft, in half liter mug
dark brown in color, with cream colored head. Decent dark malt flavor, but could have a little more complexity to take it to the next level. Drier finish.

Half pour at Carbon Copy. Dark brown pour, ring of beige head. Roasty aroma, light smoky notes. Taste is toasty, caramel. nutty. Smooth, but would be better on cask
