Notes via stream of consciousness: This is a milkshake of a beer if I've ever seen one. It's well beyond murky, and delivers an opaque yellow body with a little bit of a tan sheen. It looks like egg custard. The head is a finger's width of white foam. In the nose I'm getting a grainy and lightly caramelish or even honeyish malt, light citrus, delicate berries, dull resins, and soft herbs. The flavor follows with little variance. A median bitterness of around 30 IBUs balances it along with a snap of alcohol. It finishes with muddled notes of fruit, pine, earth, and herbs. I'm barely into it and the head has dropped to nothing and there's very little lacing left behind. I've just used this same glass with great results so it's not a matter of cleanliness on my part. In the mouth it's seemingly full in body because of all of the extra proteins, and gently crisp. I love the malt component to it, which is a little unusual, as well as the hops although I think something needs to be bigger. A fuller aroma would be nice but I could live with a larger flavor component, and that could be derived from any of the hop notes or even yeast character; more maltiness would not be good. The lack of head retention and lacing is not good, and I'll chalk that up to the alcohol even though it's only 8.2%. It seems that this beer was fermented hotter than it should have been and turned over too quickly. There is something to the brashness that's enlivening but in the end I have to call that out as a fault.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
