From a can, canned to order, Saturday evening. Let sit out for five minutes or so, before opening.
Slightly hazy orange-amber, with 1.5 fingers of creamy light tan head, that leaves a thick ring, some surface sheeting, and a 3/4" high ring of spotty lacing.
Smell is toffee, caramel, fresh bread, and a vague fruity aroma (apple+pear+...crushed pineapple?)
Taste is toffee, caramel, some hop spiciness, and a bit of burnt sugar. Light bitterness, and a bit of the slightly sour tang of dried apple, lingers after finish.
Feel is light, and slightly creamy, before some very, very fine, sharp carbonation bite kicks in. There is a flash of wateriness midway, that detracts just slightly. Minor point, & it DOES make it go down easy. [3.75]
Update 9/26/24 : that watery moment in last year's version is not present now, so score upped by .25, to reflect that. [4.0]
Overall , a pleasant , very drinkable O-fest, that is going well with my meal of lentil chile & multigrain bread.
