From a can filled yesterday. Let sit out for awhile. 55F?
Opaque, medium purply-pink, something akin to strawberry/rhubarb pie filling. One finger of light pink head.
Smell is slightly tart raspberry, with brief flashes of jammy blackberry. A bit of light, fresh crackery malt.
Taste is medium sour mixed berry, that leans to red raspberry. No noticeable vanilla until the aftertaste, where it's just barely detectable in the background. Some very light bread crust also in the aftertaste. Very light bitterness throughout, that comes across as a faint herbal flavor. Not sure if that flavor is actually there, or if it's just the vanilla (& malt) dampening the sour. I.e. , apparent flavor, from subtraction.
Feel is light, with moderate, very, very fine , soft carbonation tingle. Drying sensation after finish. There is an instant, just before finish, that seems a bit thin, but overall, has a pleasant mouthfeel.
Overall, well done. Nice balance of flavor, and tartness. The vanilla isn't really noticeable - if I didn't know, I might not detect it at all - but guessing that it helps soften the sour elements , leading to an enjoyable whole.
This is my 2nd time having this one. The first was cold, straight out of the fridge. Everything was a bit harsher, more contrasty. I think it definitely benefits from warming up. Ymmv.
