Surprise purchase by the wife in November 2023, and drunk a week or so later in December 2023.

L: Hazy, impenetrable dark yellow in the glass, like oxidised pineapple juice. There's a thin, bright-white head and small amounts of lacing left on the glass. No carbonation can be seen through the murk.

S: The expected New England big tropical fruit bowl hits the nose, led by pineapple, guava and a touch of spicey dankness. The nose is absolutely on point for a New England IPA.

T: Quite a bit more bitter than expected, even after noting that dankness in the nose, but I'm digging it. There's hop creep and hop burn on the swallow, but it's not offensive and matches the nose well. The tropical fruit bowl is there, with pineapple again leading the way and stone fruit peachiness bringing up a tasty rear. A few mouthfuls and the hop burn - or is it alcoholic warmth - makes itself known in the stomach and gullet. Eminently drinkable.

M: Spritzy carbonation suits the hop burn quite well and comes through as sherbety, adding to the relatively full body.

O: Quite a nice New England IPA that I'd happily drink more than one of, which, at the end of the day, is the best advertisement for any beer.

Cheers!
