Canned on 12/29/2022. Poured into a shaker glass. It pours a clear, burnt orange color with a thin, ecru-colored cap and minimal lacing. Not much on the nose - mostly caramel malt with just a whiff of burnt nuts and tobacco smoke. The taste is about what you'd expect: fairly sweet caramel balanced with earthy, bitter notes of nuts and char. It lacks a true depth of flavor. The mouth feel is fine; it's crisp and lite with good carbonation, and at 5.3% ABV it's extremely drinkable. Overall, Irish Uppercut would be a fine Irish Red for hoisting a few with friends, which really is the point.
