Bursting with bold tropical flavours of grapefruit, passion fruit, apricot and peach, this unfiltered IPA, which takes its inspiration from the New England IPA style, is an attack on the senses. A carefully chosen hop blend provides an intense citrus aroma while adding a well-balanced yet mild bitterness. Malts are combined to deliver a smooth mouthfeel.

Copenhagen 10/9 2018. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Bryggervangen, Kbh Ø. Drawing of Road Sign on the label surrounded by 1980style freestyle doodling.
Pours hazy orange with small white head. Settles quickly as thin layer of foam barely covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense bordering on being a little stale. Light odor of tropical fruits. Fermented and lightly decaying. Citric notes of lemon and grapefruit.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, soft, oily texture.
Flavor is fairly sweet but balanced by strong bitterness. Aftertaste is citric and bitter. Finish is semi-dry.
A bit weak in the nose but good strong flavor. I've never heard Ireland referred to as the 51st State. But what do I know?!

500ml bottle from Reilly's, Fermanagh (£2.99):
Pale orange with a 1cm, foamy white head that's creamy on the surface & seems to hold well. Stone fruits & tropical notes open the nose, some pale, sweeter malts too with a hint of biscuit but it's fairly light overalln there's some orange, citrus & pine hops towards the end too. Most of this carries over to the taste with pine, stone fruits & light tropical fruits about the strongest. Its a medium body & slightly dry towards the end but fairly well balanced & easy going.

Pours a golden color, slightly cloudy with a well retaining moderate head.
The nose hints mainly at stone fruits, with notes of nectarine, peach and apricot. This is complimented by aromas of citrus, employing notes of tangerine and light lemon.
The taste reminds somewhat of a cross between an English IPA and a classic Midwest IPA with a more easygoing bitterness. A solid bready malt backbone, with notes of caramel, supports the fruity hops flavors of stone fruit and citrus. Well balanced with a moderate malt sweetness and accessible earthy and lightly spicy hops bitterness.
Medium bodied, smooth and with a mellow carbonation. The finish is short, dry and with a light tangerine and lemon flavor and mild bitterness.
Not a bad IPA. Feels more English than American. Nothing groundbreaking compared to today’s innovation, yet solid.

Hazy peach color with slightly off-white head. Aroma has some sweet hoppy notes like ripe stonefruits and tangerines. Taste starts quite juicy and hoppy rope fruits, some vanilla like sweetness and underlying grainy malt. Very light hop bitterness on the finish. Medium body and carbonation. Quite nice, modern take on an IPA but it lacks some depth.
