Poured from bottle into tulip, tight 1 finger cream colored head, good retention and lacing. Amberish golden in the glass, hazy to look at. Smells of grapefruit with a slight floral undertone. Bracing on the first sip big bitterness upfront, more floral on the palate than the citrus I got from the nose, there is some grapefruit lingering in there. Caramel sweetness in the middle and the finish has a good bitterness to offset the sweetness. Not a bad old school IPA

330 ml bottle with a 28 August 2021 BB date stamp on the neck.
Served in a lager glass, this has a hazy amber body with a thin but semi-durable off-white head.
Aroma. Mild and malty for the style.
Flavor. Mild for the style with plenty of grain but it seems a touch light on hops. This is an Irish DIPA and not American and it still has near typical hoppy bitterness for the style in the aftertaste.

From the Aldi 2020 advent box. Light amber with some small floaters and haze. Head has fair retention. Smell and taste are too heavy on the caramel/crystal malt. I prefer a drier DIPA with little malt presence and a crisp finish. This one is thick, chewy and therefore only fair overall.

From the bottle in the 2020 Aldi Bier Advent Calendar, it pours a hazy amber with a modest head that reduces to a thin layer and modest ring. It tries to leave lacing, with modest success. In the nose, it is citrus - grapefruit in particular. In the mouth, it is a little bitter, with a citrus base.
