Smooth and buttery, but not
Incredible. Still very drinkable.

A difficult beer to categorize; there aren't exactly a wealth of Irish Golden Ales to be found. I'm told this was available on cask in the Bull & Castle, Dublin, at one point. I had it there on draught in March 2011. The following review is taken from notes.

A: One finger, thick head of fair retention. Not particularly impressive.

Sm: Caramel; a bit devoid of hops actually. Fresh barley. Medium strength scent, all things considered.

T: Body is strangely built, especially for a self-proclaimed "Golden ale". Finish has some slight cream. It's just the notes from the nose, balanced in standard form. Nothing special, really.

Mf: Nicely crisp. Wet and smooth, but not necessarily overdone.

Dr: Decent but overpriced, even by Dublin standards. A disgrace to golden ales, if we're talking the Belgian variety. A passable Euro lager.
