Its golden straw hue, perfect clarity, and high level of effervescence makes this Saison look more like a glass of champagne. An inch of paper white, wispy head holds steadily.
Spritzy and zesty. Guava and pear drop really pull through. Lime and lemon peel are slightly tart and light on their feet. Gooseberries lend a soft astringency. A flash of warm biscuit rounds things out.
Equally fruity on the palate, with gooseberry and tropical fruit skins most prominent. Its edges are crisp and snappy. The more sips I take, the more tart apple I get. It finishes grassy, and leafy with a soft bitterness and a touch of astringency. Warm, chewy biscuit is the final impression.
Its light body has a wheat malt derived fullness to it. It's both soft and crisp and remarkably refreshing at 6.2% ABV.
This is a highly approachable fruity, crisp, light and clean Saison. The influence of Brett steers it more towards a spritzy, tropical, and refreshing feel as opposed to funky, tart, and downright wild, and I liked it for that.
