Purchased a 355ml can. This is a dry stout brewed with cacao husks and leftover pieces of black bread sourced from Forno Cultura, an artisanal Italian-style bakery chain from downtown Toronto.
Colour: Pitch black with a short foamy head.
Nose: Very potent espresso, licorice, tree bark and black olive skins
Palate: Quite dry indeed, more cacao nibs, tree bark, toasted bread and whiffs of vanilla that finishes quick with a drying scent of cocoa and bread crusts
This is really refreshing indeed! In my mind its what I wanted from Kensington Brewing Co,'s stout with cacao nibs. Decently chocolatey and clean but with a good kick of earthiness to make it uniquely interesting while still being very drinkable. Never had a stout from Burdock before and I hope it's not the last!
