16oz can
Pours two fingers of fizzy white head into my Willi. Retention is good and nearly a finger of head remains after a few minutes. Lacing is nice. Body is pale yellow, crystal clear, with a healthy nucleation. Looks great.
Nose is very nice and inviting - floral, rice starch, clean.
Flavor has some rice, a little floral, with a small spicy hop character, but altogether it drinks a lot lighter than the nose.
The mouthfeel is really this beers identity - it’s incredibly bright and crisp, with a full carbonation. While fully attenuated, it’s very refreshing and doesn’t feel bone dry. That said, there is little perceived rice sweetness, which is usually a welcome trait in other Japanese rice lagers. Light bodied. Bitterness is mild. Overall the mouthfeel does a lot of work.
Drinkability is great.
Overall a solid beer. Flavor is a little lacking but the mouthfeel makes up for it.
