Oráculo // Mexican-Style Lager
This beer was... a pain. Upon arriving, I was very excited to see the beautiful Jala Rojo corn from West Nayarit, Mexico. The color was stunning and the flavor descriptors were completely unique. And, to our knowledge, we're the first brewery to use this variant of corn from our supplier. All very exciting! But, then the trouble came...
How do I mill giant kernels of corn for a cereal mash? As fate would have it, I only had access to an old Corona (oh, the irony) mill. So, I hand cranked, for what seemed like forever, all of the corn for this batch. It got to the point where my family felt bad for me and wanted to pitch in and help! It was very much appreciated!
So, was it worth it? Of course! Everything we do, we do with the highest of standards. This, in turn, usually produces delightful outcomes! Oráculo is no different. Light, clean, crisp... original. It has all the hallmarks of Oak Union beer. Attention to detail, patience, hard work, and dedication. The only thing we sacrifice in the making of our beer is our sanity. Maybe one day we'll get it back!
Oráculo is headed out this week, so keep your eyes peeled for it. Blood, sweat, and tears may actually be in this one...
