Altbier (traditional German-style Amber Ale)
A beer style which pre-dates the discovery/invention of lager beers in Germany, this traditional hoppy amber ale provided the inspiration behind many of the amber beers produced in the early days of the American craft beer revolution. Our version is crafted with Montana-grown and locally-malted Pilsner malt, Light and Dark Munich malts from Gallatin Valley Malt, and features Magnum hops grown by Bell Crossing Farms in Western Montana. This beer was cool-fermented with a traditional German ale strain that balances the upfront toasty malt flavors and moderate hoppiness with a crisp, clean finish that invites another sip (or pint!). 5.25% abv, 38 IBU
