A two-inch head is rocky with fuchsia tones and quickly dissipates, leaving no lace. The beer itself has a dark, murky, fuchsia color that is similar to the skin of red dragonfruit or passion fruit. I suspect the color has little coincidence, given both fruits are in this beer.
From a Pretentious Glass Company "Juicy" tulip glass wafts marshmallow and dragonfruit, not much else. The simplicity is okay because it still smells good.
Quite bitter and tart, with the passion fruit dominating. While dragonfruit has a mild flavor, it is surprisingly evident as the beer warms. The bitterness and tartness duke it out through the long finish.
A light body and watery texture is unexpected, given the murky appearance. Alcohol is light, while carbonation is modest and prickly. There is a mild astringency.
This is a decent beer. Given how difficult it is to work with passion fruit, because it easily overpowers everything else, I found it to be impressive. This was an enjoyable and worthwhile experiment.
