On tap at a friends place.
A pours a amber color with a decent head with good retention.
S sweet grains dominate the nose.
T the taste follows the nose with sweet grains with some fruit and a bit of spicy yeast.
M very smooth with a full body and good carbonation.
Overall a solid lager, that is enjoyable to drink espcially after a hard bike ride like today.

Served in straight glass. Poured a clean, clear, bright yellow color with less than a half-inch of white head that had decent retention and minimal lacing.
The aroma consisted of nice even grains with just a hint of yeast in the background. The flavors were the same. Crisp, clean grains and just a touch of yeast spice.
The body was a very nice, clean, crisp and refreshing. Drinkability was good and would have been better if it had been a warmer day. This would be a great warm weather quaffer. Overall, a nice little beer that's worth trying if you see it.

The body was a very nice, clean, crisp and refreshing. Drinkability was good and would have been better if it had been a warmer day. This would be a great warm weather quaffer. Overall, a nice little beer that's worth trying if you see it.

Back in the day, "Laughing Buddha" brewed a lager called "Dragon King." Today, the brewery has a new name, a new location, and a new approach to their lager. "Jet Stream" takes a step back from Asian cultural references though it may well be the same beer. It just doesn't taste as I remember the former Dragon King. It tastes awful.
The beer enjoys graceful appearances in clear, sunflower yellow with sustained white lather. Observe a sample tray at the taphouse and you'll notice that Jet Stream easily yields the most abundant head of all Trade Route beers. It also has a delightfully creamy texture such as a cream ale might have. But the flavor is oddly convoluted with a corresponding aroma that's punky and strong. Yeast esters are all over this thing. And they're very angry.
Jet Stream hosts an array of herbal tea elements suggestive of marshmallow root, licorice, sassafras, ginger, and other such party crashers that don't belong here. There's no toast, no hop spice, and no dry, crisp anything. Lagers were just never meant to be this way.
Trade Route's promotional profile for this beer states, "It goes with everything or nothing at all." That is a dangerous contention if you ask me.
