Canned on 7/3/2024 so 4 days' old. Poured into a Willi Becher glass. It's a dense, dirty tangerine color with a full finger of creamy, milk-white head and a thick film of lacing inside the glass. The smell is fruity and fragrant with pineapple, tangerine, lemon peel, and a whiff of berry. The taste opens with tart lemon and grapefruit, followed by pineapple. But what makes it interesting are the flavors imparted by the McKenzie hops. I'm tasting mint and woodsy, earthy notes that balance the citrus. When I had it on draught I noted the bitterness from the Simcoe but it seems less biting from the can. The mouth feel is well-bodied with pleasant carbonation, and it drinks big for 6.2% ABV. If I were guessing I'd say it's over 7%. Overall, Palace is another excellent hazy from Autodidact. I missed this ale when it was released in October 2023 but I've spoken with several patrons who say this batch is significantly improved.

Had this at Cloverleaf Tavern.
A: pours a hazy, milkshake straw yellow with white head with minimal retention and lacing.
S: dank, citrus notes with floral undertones.
T: sweet, earthy, dank, citrus body. Juicy.
M: full bodied and smooth.
O: nice feel and taste combo; solid overall.
