Brewed with Nelson Sauvin, Motueka, and Riwaka hops from our friends at Eggers Hop Farm in NZ, this Double IPA is our reminder to ourselves and our friends to stay focused and enjoy the ride.

Pint pour on draught at the brewery. Served in a Willi Becher glass. It is a murky, dirty tangerine color with a half finger of creamy, bright white head and a solid sheen of lacing that persisted through the pour. The nose is decidedly New Zealand with lemon, lime, and white grape, along with a sweeter malt base. Its taste is excellent: lemon and lime from the Motueka, grapefruit and earthy, herbal notes from the Riwaka, and both sweet and dry grape from the Nelson. There is more sweet fruity flavor than I expected from the hop bill. The malt base is firm and there is little bitterness although a touch of acidity. Like a typical Autodidact IPA the mouth feel is plush and creamy and it drinks very easily for 8% ABV. Overall, Auto is very adept with New Zealand hops and this collaboration with Oakflower is terrific. These breweries pump out DIPAs like this regularly and their customers shouldn't take it for granted.
