Brewed with our friend Jon at Stay Green Brewing. This cream ale is brewed with corn, rice, 6-row, and pilsner malt in the mash and then very lightly dry hopped with Nelson Sauvin hops for a burst of fruity character on a smooth and mild malt foundation.

Pint pour on draught at the brewery. Served in a dimpled mug. It pours a pretty, clear, grassy, light yellow color with a big, fluffy, snow white cap and clinging lacing. The smell includes notes of grains, lemon, and a whiff of white wine. The base Cream Ale is dry, grassy, and crackery with little corn or grain sweetness and the presence of Nelson hops is unmistakable with a strong flavor of dry white wine. The ale is lite and crisp with good carbonation and is easy to drink at 5.2% ABV. Overall, Croakies and Boatshoes is a unique take on a Cream Ale. It drinks a lot like a Lager. I wish there were just a bit more corn sweetness to play against the Nelson hops.
