Brewed with our favorite grist for a nice smooth pillowy base, and then hopped up with Strata, Strata CGX, Stata CGX Nuvo, Strata Hyperboost, and then a touch of El Dorado to push things up a touch. We’re getting waves of passionfruit and sweet berries and cream, laced with resinous undertones and a touch of tangerine candies.

Picked this up last months ago at ShopRite Liquors in Little Falls. Never had anything from Autodidact before and this was a decent introduction to them, as it was a serviceable beer…
Murky and golden in hue, more than enough suds topped this off as they slowly settled. Spotty suds lingered as there wasn’t any hint of rings to be seen. Deep and dank berry and tropical fruits were in the mellow nose as they were supplemented in the taste by candied sugar, exotic hops, tanginess, and a bit of puckering lemon. Slick and balanced, the taste was a bit offsetting as I feel that I needed a chaser of water to fully get this down.
Lots of Strata to be had here as it was almost an overload on the senses. A bit more carbonation would have helped as the alcohol was strong enough, but not too much that it could be easily felt. No datw was to be found anywhere as I wish that this had a stamping somewhere on it. Lively up front but with a bit too much sediment that needed to be swirled out, this deserved another, and fresher, go-around…

Pint pour on draught at the brewery. Served in a snulip glass. It is an opaque, light pastel lemon color with a small, ecru-colored head and modest lacing. Its smell is dank with herbal grass and notes of tropical fruit. The taste opes with bitter lemon and grapefruit rind, and is earthy and herbaceous. The El Dorado hops provide some modest stone fruit notes but it is not a fruity ale. The mouth feel is lite and it drinks easily at 7.1% ABV. Overall, I will admit I'm not a fan of Strata hops but I find Sunsetting to be a bit one-dimensional. I wish the tropical fruit was more vibrant.
